Hello, I’m Ben.

I’m the owner of Primary DJ. Growing up in a house of music lovers, I was exposed to a variety of tunes from an early age. Trips to JB-HiFi with Dad and picking out CDs became a weekly ritual. 

I have been DJing for over 22 years, starting in the backyard of a mates house, graduating to my first paid 18th birthday before branching out to all events. This passion led me to building up Primary DJ and am now privileged to be a full time DJ/MC.

In 2023 I clocked up my 1000th wedding around the Melbourne area. Weddings are the best! Everyone is up for a party which means hiring the right DJ with heaps of experience is so important.

I come from a teaching background which has grounded me with excellent communication skills as well as learning how to work with a group of differing personalities all in one place… it has also given me a love of DJing school discos! As much as I love weddings (which is a lot), there is something about getting to rev up kids for a couple of hours that is ultra enjoyable!

As an open format DJ, I love playing a mix of music at every event. Think of your party like a best of, a mix of all eras and genres that will get your guests up and dancing.

No event is the same for me. By listening to what you want played, it ensures a unique dance floor that is tailored to you.
